The stage itself. A seamless corner cyc, professional grade and ready for film, commercial, and photo shoots.
Camera Rental
Camera rental in Santa Barbara without the drive to LA: cinema and stills bodies, lens rental across the common primes and zooms, and full support.
Lighting Rental
Lighting rental from a working inventory, including the five Aputure Nova RGBWW panels that wash the cyc, plus shaping and modifiers.
Grip Rental
Film equipment rental on site: stands, flags, modifiers, and rigging, so the grip truck can stay home.

Walk it before you book it
The floorplan covers the stage, cyc, lobby, kitchenette, and load-in. Scout the whole building from your desk, then come see it in person.
Every booking is built à la carte. A green room is available for an additional cost, and a second studio can be rented on request.
Built by filmmakers
Summit Studios was founded by Jesse and Maxwell, Brooks Institute alumni with more than three decades in the creative industry between them. The studio is the space they always wanted to shoot in, so they built it.
That experience shows up in the details: how the light falls on the cyc, how fast a load-in goes, and the standard of work that has drawn collaborations with global brands like Apple, Disney, and Adidas.

Booking questions
How does booking work?
Every booking is quote-only. Tell us what you're shooting and your crew size, and we'll price it to the production. Rates are based on a 10-hour day, and a rate sheet is available on request. Scroll down to request a quote online, or call 805.453.0645.
Can I rent equipment with the studio?
Yes. Camera, lighting, and grip packages are available on site. The full equipment list is available on request, and we'll build a package around your shoot.
Is the cyc wall pre-lit?
It is! The corner RGB cyc is pre-lit with five Aputure Nova RGBWW fixtures, so you can dial in any color the moment you arrive.
What about load-in and parking?
A large roll-up door opens from the parking lot straight onto the stage, so carts and gear roll in without stairs or hallways. We have off-street parking, and free all-day street parking is available nearby.
Is the studio suitable for both photo and video?
That's the point of the place: the stage, power, and lighting are set up for stills and motion in the same day, without breaking down between mediums.
