Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Summit Studios ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit summitsb.com or contact us about renting the studio. We are a photo and video studio rental business located at 622 Olive St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101. We collect only what we need to respond to you and run the studio, and we do not sell your personal information.

Information we collect

We collect information in two ways:

  • Information you give us. When you submit our quote form, call, or email us, you may provide your name, company or brand, email address, phone number, and details about your shoot such as dates, shoot type, and production needs.
  • Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting and analytics infrastructure may record standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and referring pages. We use this in aggregate to understand how the site is used and to keep it fast and secure.

We do not run user accounts, we do not collect payment details through this website, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your inquiry and prepare a quote for your production
  • To schedule, confirm, and manage studio bookings and equipment rentals
  • To communicate about your shoot before, during, and after the booking
  • To operate, secure, and improve this website
  • To comply with legal obligations, such as tax and business records

We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we do not send marketing email unless you have asked to hear from us.

Cookies and third-party services

This site keeps third-party services to a minimum. The services that may process data when you use the site are:

  • Google Maps, which powers the embedded map on our contact page. Google may set cookies or collect usage data within the embedded frame under Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Analytics tools, which we may use to measure site traffic in aggregate. These tools report trends and do not give us the identity of individual visitors.
  • Hosting providers, which serve the website and maintain standard server logs for security and reliability.

Links to external platforms such as Instagram and Google reviews take you to services governed by their own privacy policies.

How we share information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only in these narrow cases:

  • With service providers who help us run the business (for example, email and hosting providers), bound to use it only on our behalf
  • When required by law, subpoena, or other legal process
  • To protect the rights, safety, or property of Summit Studios, our clients, or others
  • In connection with a business transfer, such as a sale or merger, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information

Data retention and security

We keep inquiry and booking records only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as required for business and tax records. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, including HTTPS across the entire site. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect what you share with us.

Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA, as amended by the CPRA) gives you specific rights over your personal information:

  • Right to know what personal information we have collected about you and how it is used
  • Right to delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA, so no opt-out is required. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below; we will verify your request and respond within the timeframes the law requires.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the current version, and material changes will be posted here. Your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
